A three-week "proof of concept" trial with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions delivered an 11.5% costs saving on unit price per tonne of the supply of recycled aggregates. It also reduced vehicle mileage by 2,084 miles and reduced the carbon footprint by 3,691kg/CO2. What the judges said: The company impressed because it has developed a national network to make recycling more accessible while also reducing distances travelled by hauliers.
