WASTE COLLECTION LOGISTICS LEADER - Reconomy
Reconomy has developed an outsourced logistical waste management solution that
has helped its clients deliver significant cost savings and environmental benefits.
A three-week "proof of concept" trial with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions
delivered an 11.5% costs saving on unit price per tonne of the supply of recycled
aggregates. It also reduced vehicle mileage by 2,084 miles and reduced the carbon
footprint by 3,691kg/CO2.
What the judges said:
The company impressed because it has
developed a national network to make
recycling more accessible while also
reducing distances travelled by hauliers.
They said: "The best circular economy
solutions involve the smallest amount
of transport possible. This is a cracking
example."
