Winner MSP Richard Lochead What the winner said: "There is still lots of work ahead of us, but I am proud that this award recognises the major steps we've already taken in delivering our vision of a zero waste Scotland. "Scotland is at the forefront of the resource revolution. Our Zero Waste Plan is a long-term vision for maximising the value of resources within the Scottish economy and it is reinforced both through regulations, which will ensure resources are made available to our economy, and through targeted support from Zero Waste Scotland to ensure Scottish organisations are able to reap the benefits. "To accelerate progress we need others right across the economy to support our aims – from local authorities to the private sector. There are real opportunities for growing a greener economy if we close the loop on how we design and manufacture products to reclaim resources for future use and future generations. I want Scotland to continue to lead on this agenda and want to work with partners who share our vision."
