I worked Saturday mornings in the town library, helping restack shelving with returned books. What are the best and worst parts of your job? Best: seeing and helping staff develop, grow and progress in the workplace. Worst: having to give feedback to unsuccess- ful job applicants. The nuclear industry is attracting record numbers of job applicants, and there are many good, well- qualified people on our door- step here in North Lancashire, but I can't give them all a job. What's your dream job and why? Travel writer and photogra- pher. I love taking pictures of people living their lives within different cultures and settings. If I could only write… What's your most treasured possession? The treehouse I recently built for my children. Where did you last go on holiday? Amsterdam. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Kevin Bacon, playing that slightly annoying character in those mobile phone adverts. Reveal something about your- self not many people know. I'm a Christian and a member of my local church. What album is currently in your car CD player? A mixture of vocal trance, 80s cheese and rock anthems. What's your favourite film and TV programme? Film: Gladiator or Dances With Wolves. TV: The Simpsons. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "Any problem is people, plant and process." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? Make everybody hold the handrail. What's your favourite joke? "Knock, knock." "Who's there?" "I done up." "I done up who?"
