Beckton wastewater treatment works,
Thames Water's biggest site and the
largest sewage works in Europe, has
recently undergone an increase in
capacity and an equipment upgrade.
Work included the fitting of an
odour control system to the existing
primary tanks. Each tank had
travelling bridge scrapers that had
reached the end of their design life
and Thames decided to replace them
with a tank floor system. This opened
up the option for CST's aluminium
beam and flat cover system to be
