The first of the two tunnels that will
comprise London's super-sewer, the
Thames Tideway Tunnel, opened this
week.
London mayor Boris Johnson was
a the opening ceremony of the £678
million Lee Tunnel last Thursday
(28 January), which will connect
Abbey Mills water works on the River
Lee with the Beckton works on the
Thames, where it will also connect
with the main Tideway tunnel.
