BUSINESS BUSINESS CORPORATEPEOPLE Aquarion Group has appointed David Howsley as chief executive officer for the Middle East and North Africa regions. He will also manage the Sharjah, United Arab Emirates office. He was formerly the chief operating officer at TIG Group. Energy Recovery, has appointed Joel Gay as its chief executive officer (CEO). He had been the company's chief financial officer and was serving as interim CEO. He is based at the firm's San Leandro, California headquarters. The company subsequently appointed Eric O Siebert as vice president of corporate strategy, effective June 8, 2015. Siebert came to Energy Recovery from the post of general manager of coating services for Aegion, in the global oil and gas markets. Gay ¬– a former colleague of Siebert at Aegion – said, "With our recently appointed chief financial officer Chris Gannon and Eric both joining the Energy Recovery team, I am increasingly confident that this leadership team can move the company forward on its objectives." Energy Recovery has also promoted Rodney Clemente to vice president of desalination sales operations from vice president of technical service. He will now be responsible for all desalination- related sales activities around the world. He is based at San Leandro. Danfoss High-Pressure Pumps has appointed Joan Galtes as its sales manager in Spain for reverse osmosis pumps and energy recovery devices. He will be based in Barcelona. He was formerly a sales manager at Energy Recovery. Simon Bouchard has been appointed as the general manager for Piedmont Pacific. Bouchard was formerly the business development manager for Degrémont in Australia and held earlier posts with Osmoflo and H2O Innovation. He is based in Quebec City, Canada. Aqualyng Holding has appointed Sunil Ghorawat as CEO. He will split his time between India, and Aqualyng's Singapore and Dubai offices. Biwater chairman, Adrian E White CBE, has received a knighthood in the UK's annual Queen's Birthday Honours List, in recognition of services to trade and exporting. Sir Adrian established Biwater Treatment in 1968 at the age of 25. "I feel I still have much to contribute in assisting foreign governments with their water and wastewater challenges, and in providing financial and technical solutions to those countries that have huge pressures on their regional and federal budgets," said Sir Adrian. Xylem has appointed Jayanthi Iyengar as senior vice president and chief innovation and technology officer. He was formerly group vice president of engineering and technology for Eaton's Aerospace Group. He will be based in New York. Stanton Smith is the new global applications engineering leader for Nanostone Water. He will be based at Minneapolis, Minnesota. Smith was formerly the ceramic membrane systems business development manager for Veolia Water Technologies. Ltd) recently built and operates the Sorek Desalination Plant in Israel.
