US company Tollgrade Communica-
tions has developed a new system of
battery-free, soware-enabled smart
grid sensors for electricity networks.
The LightHouse platform con-
sists of a medium voltage sensor
incorporating enhanced predictive
grid analytics to measure voltage to
within 0.5 per cent accuracy. Tollgrade
has already signed up US network
company DTE Energy and Canada's
Manitoba Hydro for pilot projects.
