The 2015 exhibition will be the largest yet with over 18,000 m 2 of exhibition space available at the award-winning San Diego Convention Centre. InnovAtIve thInkIng In a World Congress frst, the IDA will present the Innovation Theatre as part of the 2015 exhibition area. The theatre will be a showcase for industry-related flms and company presentations. WorlD Congress progrAmme The theme of the World Congress is Renewable water resources to meet global needs and will feature four days of technical sessions, lectures, roundtable and panel discussions. The Congress will include, on the last day, an interactive plenary session for open discussion. Prizes are awarded in fve categories: State of the art, Innovation, Research and development, Environment and sustainability, and Young leader. IDA lAunChes young leADers' mentorIng progrAmme IDA has launched a mentorship programme with the aim of helping the next generation of leaders to advance their knowledge and careers. The programme pairs an established industry leader within IDA with a member of IDA's Young Leaders Programme. Each mentor will be assigned to no more than two young professionals and they will contribute up to three hours a month in sharing their knowledge, advice and guidance. The young professionals and their mentors are asked to commit to the programme for a year. The frst set of mentors comprises: IDA director and dean of the IDA Desalination Academy and president and chief technical offcer of Leading Edge Technologies, Leon Awerbuch; IDA past president and senior technology offcer of Water Standard, Lisa Henthorne; and Fairleigh-Dickinson University faculty member of the IDA Desalination Academy and past IDA director, Professor Harvey Winters. WAter reuse ConferenCe In 2016 the IDA will hold its frst conference focused on water reuse. The event will be held on 26-27 September 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditeranée in Nice, France. It will feature experts from around the world covering leading-edge strategies and technology for municipal and industrial water reuse programmes. For more information email: conferences@idadesal.org. são pAulo to host IDA WorlD Congress 2017 The IDA has selected São Paulo, Brazil as the venue for its 2017 World Congress on desalination and water reuse. The event will take place in the second half of 2017 – specifc dates and details about the venue are being fnalized. IDA's site selection committee and the board chose São Paul from three fnal candidates – Kuwait City, Kuwait; and Busan, South Korea were the other two. nomInAtIon perIoD for IDA boArD AnD young leADers CommIttee Is open Director elections The two-year term of IDA's current board of directors expires on 3 September 2015. The IDA is seeking candidates for election to its 2015-2017 board of directors. Full details of eligibility, the application process, and board responsibilities are available on the IDA website. The nomination period will close on 8 June 2015. Ballots will be posted on the website by 17 June 2015 when voting will begin. Voting will close on 5 August 2015. Results will be posted on the IDA website prior to 15 August 2015 and members will be notifed of the results by email. Young leaders programme committee elections The nomination period is open for elections for the 2015-2017 Young Leaders Programme Committee (YLPC) members. Nominations will close on 8 June 2015. The new YLPC will assume offce on 3 September following the 2015 IDA World Congress. Details of eligibility and elections are available on the IDA website.
