More information: www.utilityweeklive.co.uk Reader of the week Nick Topham, head of business retail, Yorkshire Water "My ideal job would be ruler of the world because I don't really like being told what to do" What was your first job? I worked during the summer holidays on the bumper boat ride at Bridlington seafront. Doing an 80-hour week for a massive £1 an hour, I learnt a lot about customer service and people. What are the best and worst parts of your job? The best part is the people. The worst part of my job is the politics and the (ever so slightly) protracted decision- making processes of large organisations. What's your dream job and why? Oh – ruler of the world! Basically I don't really like being told what to do and this is the only job I can think of where I could be fairly certain it wouldn't happen. What's your most treasured possession? A Polperro pixie on my key ring that I have had since I was ten years old. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Good grief! How do you answer that? My life at times can feel a bit like a comedy, so maybe a comedy cartoon character… Scooby Doo! What album is currently in your car CD player? I'm having a classical phase, so it's JS Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. What's your favourite film and TV programme? I am watching reruns of The Thick of It. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "It'll be alright on the night." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? I would ban the use of "cc" on emails and restrict everybody to sending only three emails a day. What's your favourite joke? What is white and can't climb trees? A fridge. I know it's dumb but it makes me smile.
