Sutton and East Surrey Water came
close to losing mains power at its
main Leatherhead pumping station
during the floods that engulfed much
of the southeast of England over
Christmas and New Year.
A severe flood warning was issued
for Leatherhead, and the River Mole,
on which the pumping station sits,
burst its banks at numerous points in
Surrey and West Sussex.
