If so, then read on:We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Construction Manager to join our Strategic Operations Section here at Bristol Water. Our successful applicant will already be working in Civil Engineering Company, or engaged in a similar role within another Utility. You will be highly motivated, have an excellent record as a team player, and must be prepared to bring your skills to our business, to enhance our already highly motivated and successful work group. The Strategic Operations Team at Bristol Water is responsible for the repair and maintenance of over 1000Km of Potable and Raw Water strategic mains within our area of supply. We have been at the forefront of the Company's current AMP5 Investment Programme, undertaking enabling work and connections for our Trunk Mains New Lay and Rehab programme, in addition to facilitating many large connections as part of the upgrade on a number of our largest Treatment Works & Pumping Stations. As you can imagine, the work is both physically and mentally demanding, requiring a high level of self-motivation. This is an operational role and there will be a requirement for you to respond to unplanned events or operational emergencies that could impact on our Customers. Participation in a 24/7 Standby is a requirement of the post. Ideally you will have a degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering based subject, significant experience of water distribution systems. Technical expertise in computing skills, and telemetry, would be a distinct advantage, however, full training will be provided in all aspects of the job. A company car is provided and therefore a current full driving licence is essential. After adequate training and subject to performance, you will be required to participate in a regular standby rota, for which additional payment will be made. You will also have good interpersonal skills, enjoy meeting people, be a good communicator, flexible and must be prepared to work as part of a team. However, you should also be able to work methodically and conscientiously on your own initiative.
