RESEARCH WateReuse lists seven new research projects for 2013 HTI joins Stanford University board for ReNUWIt program Requests for proposals are to be issued in summer and fall 2013 for seven new research projects being undertaken by the WateReuse Research Foundation. The WRRF's Board of Directors approved US$ 1.3 million to fund the new research at its March 2013 meeting in Alexandria, Virginia. The projects are: • Integrated Management of Sensor Data for Real Time Decision Making (13-01) • Model Public Communication Plan for Advancing DPR Acceptance (13-02) • CCP Assessment to Quantify Robustness and Reliability of Multiple Treatment Barriers of DPR Scheme (13-03) • Challenges and Barriers to Industrial Reuse: A Path Forward for Collaboration and Growth (13-04) • Evaluation of Natural Gas to Reduce Carbon Footprint and Energy Cost for Desalination (13-05) • Methodology for Development of I&E Mitigation Program (13-06) • Database of Permitting Practices for Seawater Concentrate Disposal (13-07) Forward-osmosis specialist Hydration Technology Innovations LLC, was recently selected to serve on the Industrial Advisory Board of the Stanford University Engineering Research Center (ERC) in the USA for Re-inventing the Nation's Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt) program. The ERC is a unique resource for its affiliate members, providing a collaborative environment whereby the educational and research expertise of all affiliate members can be leveraged to develop better understanding of urban water management to provide reliable and energy efficient water supplies. Stanford University, the University of California-Berkley, Colorado School of Mines and New Mexico State University make up the group of ERC Universities that are provided funding in support of education and research for ReNUWIt from the National Science Foundation.
