The Belle Vue service reservoir com-
plex, just off Mapperley Road in Not-
tingham, is the home of two reservoirs
that were built in the 1850s and 1860s,
but are rarely glimpsed by the public.
Together, they can hold 10.2 mil-
lion litres of water, and one has been
drained as part of Severn Trent's
inspection programme. The second
will follow.
Ciara Slater, Severn Trent's service
reservoir lead, said: "We were able to
get inside and just look at the fantas-
tic job that the Victorians had done on

grandeur revealed
