Severn Trent is currently boring under
the streets of Newark as part of a huge
investment in the town. The Mount
Mole is 1.5 metres in diameter and
travels 13 metres beneath the surface.
The project is one of Severn Trent's
biggest investments, and cost £60 mil-
lion. At the end of the project, more
than 400 homes and businesses will
be protected from sewer flooding.
In all, a total of 9,600 metres of
new sewers, 1,500 metres of improved
Mole holes
