Severn Trent is in the process of
commissioning its second anaerobic
digestion plant, at Roundhill near
Birmingham.
Once in full operation the plant
will take in 48,500 tonnes a year of
food waste from a variety of industrial
contracts such as supermarkets and
restaurants.
It is estimated the plant will
produce 8.5 million m
3
of biogas,
which can be converted into 40GWh
