The conference opens with a panel of chief
execu ves including UK Power Networks' Basil
Scarsella discussing the role of transforma on and
flexibility in the face of uncertainty. For energy
companies, flexibility has specific applica ons

mechanisms in both retail and wholesale, while
responding to customers in new ways.
The impact of Brexit is on the agenda too, with
a dedicated panel asking what Britain's exit from
the EU means for u li es. Recent reports that
it could cost water companies tens of millions
of pounds by forcing up the cost of debt will
not doubt be top of mind for panellist Michael
Roberts, chief execu ve of Water UK.
It's not just external factors impac ng u li es.
Market reform is on the agenda too, with MOSL's
outgoing chief execu ve Ben Jeffs speaking

We'll be joined by speakers from other industries,
to provide a fresh perspec ve on the challenges
faced by u li es, including Virgin Media's Neil
Bartholomew, who will be asking what u li es
can learn from transforma on in the telecoms
sector.
In the a ernoons, the Keynote stage will open to all
visitors, with special sessions including a view from
