A code of practice has been agreed by all parties that goes over and above existing legislation, and includes sharing plans well in advance and working at the same / similar sites together as much as possible. ✰Finalist: Efficio and Thames Water for their collaborative approach to strategic sourcing for ozonation to entice OEMs and new entrants, leading to £2.1M savings for Thames. ✰Finalist: H5O and South West Water for the SWW Alliance model, that adopts a mixed economy approach, whereby specialist local SMEs work alongside four Tier1 partners. ✰Finalist: Scottish Water Infrastructure Growth & Skills Programme aligns the end-to-end Scottish Water Infrastructure supply chain to improve productivity, quality, and reduce wastage. ✰Finalist: STW One Supply Chain's 'One Severn Trent' collaboration is introducing radical initiatives to delivery efficiency savings whilst delivering excellent customer service. ✰Finalist: WRC plc for its Instrument User Group, a partnership between technology users, suppliers and developers providing a unified approach to instrumentation used in the industry. Partnership Initiative of the Year ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê ê What the judges said: Streetworks/roadworks are a problem that directly affects the customer and one that no other city or region has solved. This initiative involves several stakeholders and goes above and beyond their call of duty. It's a true collaboration for the good of the customer. Winner Kier For its Functional English programme. Through a partnership with South Devon College, Kier extended staff and operative training to include literacy and wider communication development. ✰Highly commended: Imtech Water, Waste & Energy for its Be-WELL policy, developed in response to occupational health screening that showed a high number of staff were overweight. ✰Finalist: Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and its Talent Search Programme to attract and retain high calibre individuals through apprenticeship, operational trainee and graduate schemes. ✰Finalist: Northumbrian Water Group for its 'Our Way... Your Direction' scheme, using development discussions, secondment opportunities and other resources to heighten staff engagement ✰Finalist: Supply UK Water Services for its Calm Network Training scheme, which has reduced network surge effects by training operatives to use valves / hydrants more effectively. ✰Finalist: Yorkshire Water for its i3 initiative, combining web- based recruitment with a new induction, modular training and an evidence folder linking learning to salary increases.
