More information: http://www.terrapinn.com Reader of the week Cheryl Phillips, skills gap director, Design and Technology Association "It's great seeing the excitement of teachers and pupils as they learn new skills with employers" What was your first job? Working the till in a stationery shop. What are the best and worst parts of your job? The best part is seeing the excitement of teachers and pupils as they learn new skills with employers – and seeing businesses develop an understanding of what design and technology is really all about and why it is so important to their businesses. The downside is the level of competition and politics in the skills sector, which can get in the way of delivering value. What's your dream job and why? To be running the Skills Gap Programme five years from now with strong angel investment and widespread buy-in from business and education, and to see the concept making a real difference to curriculum design – not just for design and technology but across subjects. What's your most treasured possession? I value people and relationships much more than things. In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you? Jodie Foster. What album is currently in your car CD player? The Bones of What You Believe by Churches – a Scottish electro- pop band. What's your favourite film and TV programme? Film: V for Vendetta. TV: Breaking Bad. What quote or saying do you most overuse? "We are where we are." If you ruled the world, what would you do first? Try to create a common will to address the big challenges we all face rather than having individual nations acting in self-interest. What's your favourite joke? What goes Ha ha – bonk? A man laughing his head off.
