As part of our of its AMP5 commitment to support water companies, it has further expanded its water engineering capability through recruitment, and further development of its process and MEICA design capability. Also, Trant has expanded its manufacturing facilities for control panels, MCC's and automation systems. The company expects performance over the next 12 months to be similar to the past year, although it expects clients to continue to demand reductions in unit costs. Contrary to previous AMP periods Trant is not anticipat- ing the same degree of reduction in activity levels for the rest of AMP5. Its water clients have now provided their Year 5 programmes which, in some instances include potential early AMP6 works. Consequently, the company expects full utilisation of its resources in this sector. In light of the move to totex in AMP6, the company's focus will be more on the client's customers in order to ensure it understands and meets their expectations in terms of increased levels of service without commensu- rate price increases. To facilitate this Trant will need to work much more collabora- tively with clients in order to identify smarter ways of working in order to improve investment outcomes. As an AMP6 Framework Agreement partner, Trant says it will be very important that it engages more than ever with its wider supply chain, whose support will be essential in its response to the anticipated efficiency demands. New technologies, more innovative ways of working together, and early involvement in solution development will feature in the services it will provide. Veolia goes from strength to strength vEOLIa Kings Place,90 York Way 5th Floor, London N1 9ag Earlier this year, Estelle Brachlianoff, Veolia Environnement, executive vice president, UK & Northern Europe, said the company, had invested £1.6B in UK PLC since 2000. "The UK recovery is currently being driven by increased consumption and requires both international and domestic investment to deliver sustainable economic growth," she said. "Whilst the government has made no secret of the fact that it would welcome greater inward investment, particularly in infrastructure, we agree with the CBI that actions speak louder than words. "As a multinational company which has already invested £1.6bn in UK PLC since 2000, we are waiting for tangible signs of this engagement which in a competitive market would encourage us to select the UK as part of our next long-term investment cycle." The company said it currently have 'shovel-ready' recycling and energy recovery facility was still waiting for government go-ahead.
