TRIPSAVER® II CUTOUT MOUNTED RECLOSER.
An overhead spur protection strategy using S&C's TripSaver® II Cutout-Mounted Recloser can
dramatically improve the performance and reliability of your Distribution Network. For the 80% of
faults that are transient on your spur lines, TripSaver® II can reduce these outages and prevent them
from becoming permanent. When a transient fault occurs, this Smart Grid solution eliminates short
interruptions for customers on the main feeder by only blinking the affected spurs.
The TripSaver® II is a smart replacement for Fuses, Auto-Sectionalising Links (ASLs), and
Auto-Sectionalisers, with highly flexible protection features. The TripSaver® II is self-powered from
the line/fault current and has no user-serviceable or replaceable parts.
