Now in its second year, the Awards are back with 15 categories, recognising network operators, the supply chain, contractors and local authorities who are involved in shaping the energy system. With the government committing to cut carbon emissions in the UK to net zero by 2050, networks will be key in the facilitation of decarbonisation. The challenge of decarbonisation means that collaboration is not only inevitable but vital. Looking at the whole system will be crucial, as will continuing to work together and innovating – something that is re… ected in this year's awards – with the addition of a Cross Vector Project of the Year category. With networks working to deliver a once in a generation transformation of the energy system there really is no better time to let the nation know exactly how this has been achieved. The event is now open for entries and you can Œ nd out all the information you need about the categories and details of how to enter on page 12. Finally, this is my last issue as editor of Network, so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support during my time in the role. It has been a great honour to highlight the good work taking place across the sector at a time of transformative change in the energy system. It's clear to me that people are at the centre and critical to the success of how energy networks are run. The industry should be proud of the good work that it's doing, and I have no doubt that this will continue. I will continue to keep a close eye on what is happening as I move into a content director role on Water & Wastewater Treatment – another brand that sits within the Faversham House portfolio of products. of how energy networks are run.
