www.wwtonline.co.uk | MAY 2019 | 33 Taskmaster TM8500 Grinder The Taskmaster TM8500 is a high performance, twin sha grinder that provides power- ful size reduction capabili- ties, easy maintenance and exceptional durability. The unit features cutter cartridge technology which increases unit strength completely and eliminates the need for cutter stack re-tightening. The Taskmaster can be suc- cessfully installed in sewage treatment plants, sludge lines, pumping stations, roadside or runway sanitary facilities, institutional waste, or small solid waste applica- tions. The unit is supplied for open channel or in-line applications. OTHER TOP PICKS FOR PUMPS AND BLOWERS Next month: Pipes and drainage THE DETAILS Atlas Copco WEDA submersible dewatering pumps ● Dewatering, sludge and slurry applications● WEDA D handles water of 1100kg/m3 and solids of 4-12mm diameter ● WEDA S pumps water pf 1400kg/m3 and solids of 25-50mm● WEDA L pumps water of 1700 kg/m3 and solids of 20-60mm What are they? Atlas Copco Power and Flow has completed its portfolio of WEDA electric submersible dewatering pumps, by launching pumps for drainage and sludge applications and adding a completely new range for slurry applications. The range now comprises three families; the expanded WEDA D for dewatering, WEDA S – also expanded - for sludge, and the entirely new WEDA L slurry family. What's good about them? Aside from optimising their performance, a lot of focus has been given to make the pumps lighter, enhance electrical safety, improve the seal design and ease installation. All pumps in the D and S range are available with WEDA+ features, which include phase failure protection, rotation control, thermal switches and a 20 m cable with phase shi er plug for all 3 phase pumps. What do they say? The WEDA pumps can handle fl ow rates of up to 16,500l/min, with power ratings up to 54kW, making them ideal dewatering solutions across diverse applications, according to Hrishi Kulkarni, Atlas Copco Product Manager. The Knowledge Pumps and pumping systems Qdos Chemical metering pumps Qdos chemical metering pumps, also made by WM- FTG, cover fl ows from micro- litres up to 2,000 litre/hour and are widely adopted for water treatment applications where they are handling disinfectant chemicals and fl occulants 24/7. Like the Bredel and APEX pumps (see le ) they are certifi ed by the NSF, which allows them to be sold across the USA and is also a respected standard in other countries. 'NSF/ANSI 61: Drinking Water System Components – Health Eff ects' certifi es that the chemicals and materials used in producing drinking water are safe and will not have negative health eff ects, and that equipment used will not add contaminants. Bredel and APEX pumps A number of advanced pumps off ered by Watson- Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) have been certifi ed to the NSF/ANSI 61 standard, a move that provides further assurance for water industry companies seeking safe and accurate chemical metering. The Bredel and APEX ranges have become the fi rst chem- ical metering hose pumps worldwide to achieve ac- creditation for drinking water chemicals. The certifi cation covers APEX10, 15 and 20 hose pumps (with EPDM hoses), APEX28 and 35 (with EPDM and NR hoses) and Bredel 10 to 50 (seven models) with EPDM and NR Endurance hoses.
