The contract, which comes with the option to extend for a further two years, was awarded following a com- petitive tender process through which Selwood demonstrated expertise in comprehensive pump and pipework solutions. Richard Brown, managing director at Selwood, said: "We are delighted to have won this A PEM Ltd, the independ- ent environmental con- sultancy specialising in the aquatic environment and remote sensing, has under- gone a management buy-out backed by private equity firm WestBridge Capital. The deal has seen West- Bridge invest £9.8 million in a combination of equity and loan notes, which will sup- port the company's growth ambitions as it develops complementary service lines to support its clients' needs. Following the transaction, business founder Dr Keith Hendry will retire, while Dr Adrian Williams and Dr Stuart Clough, who have been central to the growth of the business over the past decade, will continue to take the company forward. They will be supported by an experienced executive team who will benefit from the wider share ownership that Selwood signs sole supplier partnership with Northumbrian Management buy-out for APEM contract to continue working with Northumbrian Water as valued partners. "We work hard to meet and exceed the requirements of our clients and partners by provid- ing safe, robust, and reliable commercial pumping solutions and investing in our products, people and resources. We are pleased that this has been recognised by Northumbrian Water in one of a string of recent contract wins." Northumbrian Water provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people. the transaction has allowed. "We are delighted to con- clude this deal," Dr Williams said. "As well as enabling us to develop a wider suite of spe- cialist services across the UK, it allows us to exploit the huge growth potential presented by the US offshore wind market. "We already have a strong foothold in the United States, having won four major offshore wildlife photography survey contracts in the last couple of years, but there is much more to come. We're de- lighted that our methodology for conducting aerial surveys has become adopted both by regulatory bodies and develop- ers alike. "Our success to-date, across the whole of APEM, has been due in no small part to our team of highly qualified and loyal colleagues and we would like to take this op- portunity to thank them for all their efforts."
