NEW APPOINTMENTS Costain has announced that Alex Vaughan is to become the company's new CEO. He will replace Andrew Wyllie, who is retiring to pursue a non- executive career after 14 years as Costain's CEO. Wyllie recently took up the presidency of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is a non-executive director of Yorkshire Water Services. Vaughan, currently MD of the group's natural resources division, will be appointed as CEO with effect from the conclusion of the company's AGM on 7 May. Kier Group has announced the appointment of Andrew Davies as chief executive with effect from 15 April. From 2014 to 2018, Davies was CEO of Wates Group, the construction, developments and property services group. In October 2017, he was announced as the chief executive of Carillion but the company became insolvent before he took up the role. AECOM has appointed Mark Southwell as managing director of civil infrastructure for the UK and Ireland. Southwell will be responsible for all aspects of AECOM's civil infrastructure business in the UK and Ireland, which includes the transportation and water, ports and power teams.
