Recognising excellence across the industry, a total of 15 awards were handed out to individuals and organisations, who have demonstrated excel- lence and achieved outstanding performance in the past year. The industry took a moment to remember and raise a glass to the late chief executive of West- ern Power Distribution, Robert Symons, who was recognised as this year's Industry Achiever. Tributes were paid to Symons, who died last month following a battle with cancer. Utility Week's acting editor Suzanne Heneghan described him as "an individual who made a lifetime contribution that was second to none". More than 1,400 people from the utility sector attended the Greatest Showman- themed gala dinner and awards ceremony, which was hosted by comedian and presenter Sue Perkins. Anglian Water (pictured above) scooped the coveted Utility of the Year Award, which is always a hard-fought category. Utility Week would like to thank: the event's main sponsors Capgemini, CGI and Microso; premium partner Enzen; and sponsors KPMG, Gemserv, Anglian Water, Calvin Capital, Northern PowerGrid, Ordnance Survey, Lowri Beck and CloudKB. Lastly we would like to give a warm thank you to the panel of independent experts who took the time to judge the awards. For more details of the night, visit: utilityweek awards. co.uk/2018-winners
