MGjv, which comprises Morrison Utility Services and Galliford Try, started out delivering water pipes and sewer work for Thames Water in south London in AMP5. For AMP6, it secured a capital delivery contract with Southern Water that included a five-year extension option into AMP7, with AECOM consultants supporting the venture in terms of design, programmes and solutions. The infrastructure framework, which is expected to turn over in excess of £200 million over the five-year period, covers investment in network assets across Southern Water's entire region and includes replace- ment and upgrade of both raw and treated water supply and distribution networks; replacement and upgrade of sewer rising mains, gravity networks, sewer rehabilita- tion and flood mitigation activity; and developer services activity to support network growth. BAM Nomenca was formed as a joint venture in 2015 between BAM Nuttall and Nomenca to work on behalf of South East Water in AMP6. Both BAM and Nomenca were delivery partners of South East Water during AMP5, so the latest framework has seen the continuation and development of a collaborative client and contractor working partnership. The current deal entails delivering SEW's non-infra- structure major works for the next five years, with an option to extend for a further 10 years. The JV is working with South East Water on a range of projects including the building of new water treatment works, pumping stations and service reservoirs as well as the refurbishment of existing treatment plants. It has prided itself on developing both innovative solu- tions and working efficiencies in a fully collaborative environ- ment. The joint venture recently started work on a £22 million This year, MGjv has been making improvements to the sewage system in Bosham Hoe to improve its reliability and effectiveness, including removing and replacing 89 vacuum pods, with work due to be completed in November. The alliance has also worked on Southern's plans to install a 10km wastewater pipe from the west of Chichester to Tangmere, for which planning permission was finally granted expansion of South East Water's Bray Keleher Water Treatment Works in Berkshire that will see the treatment works increase approximately one-third in size and output. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2020, and will ensure water supplies continue for thousands of homes and business across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire. The expansion is considered to be the flagship project in South East Water's five-year £424 million AMP6 in September, and has been involved with the multi-mil- lion-pound environmental scheme in Three Oaks that will allow 120 customers to connect to a main sewer for the first time. MGjv also secured a £25 million contract for meter installation services for Thames Water that began in March 2015 and runs until March 2020; at the three-year point, MGjv had installed 396,106 meters for Thames. investment programme. The Bray Keleher site currently capable of abstract- ing up to 45 million litres of water from the River Thames and turning it into fresh drinking water every day; the expansion will see output increased to 68 million litres of water every day. The increase is a direct result of water supply and demand forecasts that revealed the need to increase output in the area due to increases in population and consumption.
