This battery storage scheme has just
started operating in Wales, and its
developer, Swedish energy group Vat-
tenfall, believes it is the largest in the
UK to share electrical infrastructure
with an onshore wind farm.
The 22MW battery@pyc installa-
tion – which shares a site with the Pen
y Cymoedd wind farm in the upper
Rhondda, Cynon and Afan valleys –
will help National Grid maintain sup-
ply frequency and reliability of supply
