Northern Ireland Water last week
drastically reduced its carbon foot-
print with the launch of a solar farm
on a 33-acre site on the eastern shore
of Lough Neagh.
The new 24,000 panel solar farm,
which cost £7 million and will provide
a peak output of 4.99MW, will power
the Dunore water treatment works in
south Antrim. It is expected to save
NI Water more than £500,000 a year in
energy costs and will also enable the
Shore savings
