Division Water Intake Systems
The aim of water intake screening
equipment is to protect pumps and other
downstream equipment (e.g. condenser
tubes or desalination membranes) from
the carry-over of debris. Our robust
water intake screening systems made by
Geiger
®
, Johnson Screens
®
and Passavant
®
mechanically clean water extracted from
the sea, rivers or lakes. The combined
experience of our brands is unsurpassed,
with each existing for more than 100 years.
Together we have supplied more than
15,000 intake screens worldwide.
A er screening, the debris-free water
is used as cooling water for power plants,
process water for industrial sites, chemical
plants and refineries. Our design-built,
made-to-measure, automated screening
machines also screen raw water for potable
water plants, and also for desalination
plants, firefighting channels, drainage
channels and irrigation offtakes.
Both open and passive intake screening
systems are available on request. Open
channel intake systems are primarily
employed in the cooling intakes of power
stations and are usually located in front
of the power station, whereas passive
or offshore intake systems (our Johnson
Offshore Intake Systems - JOIS™) are located
further out to sea/in the river. Our product
range includes bar screening and trash
raking machines, mesh/travelling band
screens (mainly made in Germany) and our
Johnson Offshore Intake Systems™ (JOIS™).
Geiger

Cathodic Corrosion Protection
Systems effectively protect screening
equipment in sea and brackish water.
Our customized screening solutions signify
lower operating and maintenance costs, whilst
simultaneously providing maximum reliability,
performance, quality, precise design and
particle-free water. The Division Water Intake
Systems is part of the Aqseptence Group
GmbH. For more information, see our article in
this edition of the magazine.
