B almoral Tanks has expanded into the pipe arena with the acquisition of Servomac Ltd, the Chester- eld-based pipework specialist, for an undisclosed sum. Balmoral Tanks, part of Aberdeen-based Balmoral Group Holdings Ltd, provides a portfolio of liquid storage and treatment products including epoxy-coated and concrete tanks and has installations on major projects spanning Europe, the Americas, the Mid- dle East and Far East. The company's new £10 million purpose-designed fac- tory in South Yorkshire opened in January 2018 and houses a brand new epoxy-coating line and in-line shot blasting as T renchless technology sup- pliers Source One Environ- mental are moving prem- ises in early May, due to their continued growth. "Our new building aŽ ords us much greater space to accommodate stock of all of our new product ranges and our new lining equipment," said S1E MD Glenn Cartledge." "Since the business was created, more than a decade ago, we have shared a building with our sister company, Flex- seal. Both businesses have grown since then and have plans to grow even further, so more space was needed," con- tinued Glenn. The new building is in A lkali Solutions Ltd (ASL) has secured a three year contract to supply Limesol, the liquid lime suspen- sion, to Southern Water. The contract, for ve Waste Water Treatment Works stretching from Southampton in the west to Ashford in the east, encompasses delivery of approximately 3k tonnes of Limesol per year. Limesol is used to adjust the pH of the e˜ uent stream ensuring su™ cient pathogen kill is realised, and the well as the latest laser-cutting technology and fabrication facilities. Allan Joyce, managing director at Balmoral Tanks, said: "This acquisition pro- vides a platform to extend our product oŽ ering to our global client base. Having worked with Servomac on a number of large projects, the synergy between the two companies has been striking. I am delighted that the team at Ser- vomac will continue to run the business on a day to day basis as their knowledge and experi- ence is highly valued. "The acquisition underpins Balmoral's business strategy of diŽ erentiation in the marketplace." Grimethorpe, Barnsley, just 4 miles away from their previous base and still easily accessed from the M1 and A1. "The new building signi es a new chapter in the Source One Environmental story." We have a number of new product ranges to cement our position as a leader in the eld of trenchless technology and we have ambitions to develop the company even further as we settle into our new home," said Cartledge. The company is holding an Open Day on June 13th for cus- tomers to see the new site for themselves. Those interested should contact S1E directly for more information. resultant dewatered sewage cake can then be recycled to agriculture as a fertiliser. This completes the cycle of re-use for municipal waste and, in turn, generates su™ - cient biogas energy to create substantial cost savings in run- ning its treatment plants. 'We have made signi cant technical advances in the pro- duction of this high-tech milk of lime, and this has been rec- ognised by Southern Water,' commented Derek Thompson, Sales Director at ASL. WHAT IT IS: In response to water companies' appeals to reduce the amount of non-biodegradable material being discharged into the sewage system, treatment plant specialist Marsh Industries now o ers a range of Degrilleur trash barriers for pump chambers and sewage treatment plants. Degrilleur is a bar screen which, when positioned ahead of the system's inlet, prevents debris from entering and pushes it to the top of the chamber where it is stored in a collection chamber until it can be cleared and disposed of appropriately via the unit's manhole cover. WHAT IT DOES: This simple mechanical process involves no moving parts so the Marsh Degrilleur units are maintenance-free and o er reliable operation. Available in two sizes – 2000 and 6000 litres - Degrilleur units are suited for domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The unit can also function as a flow-splitting chamber for multi-stream applications or an upstream trash screen in storm water attenuation schemes. WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT: The makers say that Degrilleur units will quickly pay for themselves by preventing blockages and possible plant failure or flooding that can be caused by non-dissolvable items being flushed into the system. With 360,000 UK sewer blockages a year caused by non-decomposable items such as wet wipes and grease, the unit can help water companies protect their valuable assets and minimise problems downstream. BOLLFILTER aquaBoll BOLLFILTER UK has launched the aquaBoll, a fully automatic ‹ lter capable of signi‹ cantly increasing the overall eŒ ciency of water treatment or sewage plants by its functionality and adaptability. Designed by Boll & Kirch, the aquaBoll is the result of ten years of research and development with the water industry and has been certi‹ ed by 40 classi‹ cation societies globally. The automatic ‹ lter is capable of handling demanding situations and the toughest conditions, while the standardised multiple platform concept ensures lower acquisition costs and high flexibility.
