Eric Wright Water, whose team features professionals from across the civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering disciplines, currently has significant framework agreements with United Utilities, Yorkshire Water and C2V+, and new managing director Neal Whittle says the "main priority" is trying to maintain those relationships into AMP7. The business also has framework agreements with Scottish Water and Severn Trent for maintenance-type works, with the latter having been extended in September aŒer a successful initial three-year period, and Whittle says there is "certainly scope to advance and become a bigger player in those areas". Among the successful projects completed in 2017 were the Hesketh Bank wastewater treatment works upgrade, carried out as M&E delivery partner for C2V+, and the installation and commission of an 'intelligent-lite' membrane across the entire roof structure for Crosshill service reservoir. Both were carried out for United Utilities. Eric Wright Water, which was separated from Eric Wright Civil Engineering in early 2016 as the water sector grew in importance for the group, went into the black with its accounts for 2015 aŒer having made a loss of £205,230 the previous year. The 2016 financial results for Eric Wright Group showed turnover up £23.94 million to £201.35 million and a pre-tax profit of £7.4 million, despite Eric Wright Construction reporting a £1.4 million pre-tax loss on a turnover of £119.3 million for that period.
