OTHER TOP PICKS FOR TANKS AND TREATMENT Next month: Filtration THE DETAILS Xylem HydroInfi nity ● Agricultural water purifi er that can eliminate use of antibiotics in livestock ● Chemical-free purifi cation ● Patented operating technology combining UV, ozone and fi lter ● 220L storage tank ● Delivery pressure up to 4.6 bar – delivery fl ow up to 50 l/min What it is: Global water specialist Xylem has partnered with technology company H2Ozone to launch the HydroInfi nity Agricultural Series, a water treatment system that can eliminate the use of antibiotics in livestock. What it does: The system delivers pure, ozonated water that can eradicate antibiotics, probiotics and vaccines from the food chain and help prevent antimicrobial resistance. It collects, purifi es, stores and distributes water for bovine, poultry and piggery environments to drinking water standards. How it works: The system collects water through a washable stainless inlet pre-fi lter. It then fl ows to a second inlet fi lter, which traps any particles larger than fi ve microns. Next, the water passes through the "Helical" UV chamber, where all pathogens are deactivated. What they say: Peter Wright, EMEA Segment Director at Xylem, says: "It marks a major development in reducing, if not eliminating, the need for antibiotics in livestock. The transformation it can bring to an agricultural application is astounding." The Knowledge Tanks and treatment SOCOTEC OASIS wa- ter recycling unit SOCOTEC has launched an upgraded version of its OASIS Water Recycling unit. Having recognised the need to reduce running costs and make cooling tower systems more environmentally ef- fi cient, the updated OASIS units can support the reduc- tion of water consumption and costly effl uent dis- charges. Designed originally to recycle wastewater from evaporative cooling towers, the advanced model can also be used to recycle waste water from reverse osmosis water purifi cation units used in a wide variety of applica- tions including pharma- ceutical process water and beverage production. KSB Amaclean tank insert At this year's IFAT trade fair in Munich, KSB is presenting its ready-to-install self-cleaning Amaclean tank insert. Amaclean decreases the amount of stagnant water in the pump sump and reduces the need for maintenance and cleaning. In combination with select impeller types featuring in the wastewater pumps used, this tank insert eliminates the need for fl ushing valves. The patented design and gel-coated inner surface prevent waste and fi bres contained in the waste water from depositing in and at the lower parts of the structure, and the tank itself is made of glass fi bre reinforced polyester.
