Valencia, Spain 24 to 27 June l IDA International Conference on Water Reuse and Recycling: Making Every Drop Count IDA's second international event on reuse and recycling, presented in association with AEDyR, Spain's desalination and reuse association, and with support from European Desalination Society (EDS). The conference is conducted under patronage of the director general for water at Spain's ministry of agriculture, fisheries, food and environment, Liana Ardiles. The year's event will combine plenary, panel, and technical sessions, focusing on advanced technologies for water reuse and recycling for municipal and industrial reuse. The sessions will cover new technologies, direct and indirect potable reuse, non-potable and agricultural reuse, water quality monitoring and control, and advanced technologies for joint desalination and reuse. The event will extend its reach to include stakeholders in developing water reuse programmes, such as government entities, policy makers, legal teams, non-governmental organisations, and the financial community. IDA's annual Water Reuse and Conservation Awards will be presented at the event. The biennial event gathers stakeholders from the global water industry to share best practices, showcase the latest technologies and tap business opportunities. SIWW is part of the strategic programme of the Singapore government to grow the water industry and develop water technologies. The event will discuss the place of desalination within the water cycle, and will present the most recent developments in desalination technology, covering such topics as cost, and extent of application, including socio-economic and environmental issues. It will bring together research scientists, decision makers, managers, design engineers and operators from water companies, industries, government department, consulting firms, research institutes and universities.
