The e-POWER online auction gives generators
under the feed-in-tariff or renewables
obligation access to the whole UK supply
market in a competitive auction environment,
selling electricity and any associated
renewable benefits to the highest bidder.
Independent research by Cornwall Energy
shows generators selling their output via the
e-POWER auction achieve 95–98 per cent of
full market value, compared to 90–96 per cent
for short term PPAs and 80–90 per cent for
long-term PPAs.
With everything taken care of by e-POWER
– the auction, the billing, and the settlement –
generators receive monthly payments in full,
including the value of ROCs if applicable; a real
cash flow advantage.
