A three-year, £200 million refurbish-
ment project at Davyhulme wastewa-
ter treatment plant is nearing comple-
tion. Older parts of the plant have
been replaced with more efficient,
automated equipment, and processes
have been introduced to convert
sludge into fertiliser and biogas.
The energy centre at the site –
which produces power, heat and
biomethane through biosolids diges-
tion – has won an award from the
Davyhulme upgrade
