UTILITY WEEK | 12TH - 18TH JANUARY 2018 | 7 Website relaunch Analysis A new year, and a new website for Util- ity Week. From January 2018 we're offering our readers a new and per- sonalised online experience, with a fresh look. Using the same URL, utilityweek.co.uk has been revamped and endowed with new functionality, which allows subscribing members to follow only the subject matter, companies and industry personalities they are most interested in reading about. Once we know your preferences, we can now cut through the hubbub of industry news, com- ment and opinion, to offer bespoke packages of content, both on the site and in daily brief- ings – delivered directly to your inbox at a time that suits you. Anyone can visit the site and register their details to get a taster of the new functional- ity. If you like what you see, a "freemium" trial will give you a full subscriber experi- ence for a week. This includes access to as many standard articles as you like, as well as the ability to view our exclusive premium content, which now includes: • CEO research: insights into the aspira- tions and concerns held by your indus- try's most prominent leaders. • Bespoke consumer research: analysis of key trends, and findings from our regular consumer surveys on customer- facing issues and policy developments, conducted in association with Harris Interactive. • Foresight: forward-looking analysis of the big themes and developments shaping your industry. • Company Insights: articles focused on the strategies and methodologies compa- nies employ to improve their performance against key regulatory measures, to break into new markets and to transform for a radically different industry future. The first premium content to appear on the site includes a Company Insight feature examining DNO strategies for performing against Ofgem's broad measure of customer service (see overleaf for commentary from Maxine Frerk, Ofgem's former senior direc- tor for distribution, on the insights offered by this article). Also on show are two Foresight articles on the expected outcomes of the initial business plan assessment process in PR19. Taking WASCs and WOCs in turn, these pieces shed light on how water companies are expected to fare in the face of Ofwat's tough new price control framework. Next up for publication will be the first iteration of our research with industry chief executives, and a further Company Insight article looking at what energy suppliers are doing to break away from old retail models and develop home services for customers. To take a look at the new website and our new content in action, visit: utilityweek. co.uk. We look forward to hearing what you think. • Water wholesalers: benchmarking perfor- mance: this Company Insight article will ask water retailers in the non-domestic market to rate the wholesalers they are served by against a set of key success metrics. The piece will then use this information to rate the wholesalers against each other in terms of performance, and get them to respond to this. • CEO Insights H1 2018: The first iteration of our bespoke research with industry leaders, this report will showcase findings from our chief executives survey alongside qualitative analysis from industry experts. The report will include a special focus on the sentiment of chief executive in the non-domestic water market, which opened to competition in April 2017. • Home services: This Company Insight article is based on interviews with key players in the emerging market for home services. The piece explores the strategies of energy suppliers that have moved into this space, as well as those of major competitors from outside the energy sector, including Homeserve and Amazon.
