www.wwtonline.co.uk | DECEMBER 2017 | 31 Viatran DLT series Viatran model 596 detach- able level transmitters (DLT series) are now available with the ability to swap sensors without removal of the entire length of installed cable. The time-saving feature has been built into the submersible level transmitter, which is specially designed to meet the challenging demands of liquid level measurement. No special tools are required - the sensor coupling sleeve simply needs to be twisted until it separates into two halves. The ORAKEL system incorporates a versatile control and display unit which can accommodate up to 16 sensors to measure diff erent fl ow and quality characteristics, creating a bespoke solution for wastewater and industrial water monitoring. What it does: The device can measure level and fl ow in a number of diff erent ways to suit the confi guration of the pipe or channel, while water quality sensors can also be incorporated to measure pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen levels and other indicators. What they say: Steve Woods, managing director of Detectronic: "Our new ORAKEL system is the result of a two-year, bespoke R&D programme designed to further enhance our existing range of monitoring equipment. ORAKEL represents the ultimate solution for level, fl ow and quality measurement in water and wastewater applications." The Knowledge Products: Wastewater treatment & monitoring Unisense H2S sensor A new sensor from Unisense measures hydrogen sulphide (H2S) dissolved in wastewa- ter, allowing the detection of the source of odour and corrosion in sewers. This enables utilities and consult- ants to fi nd the root cause of hydrogen sulphide odour problems in sewer networks, which makes odour mitiga- tion faster and saves sig- nifi cant cost for chemicals. Danish company Unisense displayed the new sensor at the recent Aquatech exhibi- tion in Amsterdam. AmaLine R Berson and Hanovia have jointly launched a new low- pressure UV disinfection system for the treatment of municipal wastewater. The easy-to-install AmaLine R UV range has been third-party validated, in line with US EPA and NWRI guidelines. It provides eff ective treatment, while reducing lifecycle costs through being simple to maintain and extremely energy effi cient. The Ama- Line has been designed to simplify maintenance, which can be performed by a single operator rather than a crew, and without requiring exter- nal li ing equipment. PRODUCT OF THE MONTH
