Products: pumps What's hot in the world of pumps? WWT takes a look at the latest products that are causing a buzz in the marketplace Weir Minerals – Warman WGR slurry pump Weir Minerals has launched the 2nd generation of the Warman WGR slurry pump, which it says embodies its commitment to continually reduce the total cost of ownership of its equipment. The new pump boasts several innovative features including fully replaceable liners designed using a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation that provide a signi• cantly improved perfor- mance over the • rst generation of the pump. The liners and impeller are manufactured from premium Linatex rubber and housed within robust casing halves. Enhancements to the casing design simplify mainte- nance and minimise downtime. Other new features include the introduction of an expeller gland seal for optimum performance, as well as the option of having a low „ ow packed gland and the unique D gland seal. Available in seven di‡ erent sizes, from 35mm to 250mm, the Warman WGR pump includes wear components that are optimised using the latest technology, impeller and volute liners designed to reduce turbulence and deliver longer wear life, and high capacity bearings to withstand high loads. Reduced downtime, high performance, added safety features and a lower cost of operation are the key points in the new pump's favour. Atlas Copco PAS pumps Service Pump Ltd, the service orientated pump hire solutions specialist, has added a substantial number of Atlas Copco PAS super silent diesel pump sets to their hire „ eet. David Berry, Managing Director at Service Pump said, "When looking to expand our „ eet, we were drawn to Atlas Copco because their reputation for high quality, reliable products would complement our commitment to providing world class service. Once we'd seen the high performance and compact size of the PAS pumps we were convinced they would meet the needs of our custom- ers." Having examined the options on the market, Service Pump chose to invest in Atlas Copco's range of PAS super silent diesel pump sets because of their quality, reliability and ease of use. All of the pumps, which are fuel e— cient and have environmentally friendly features such as the environ- mentally friendly fully bonded fuel tank and base, have been delivered in the green Service Pump livery. The robust canopy is powder coated galvanised steel making it resistant to corrosion whilst keeping noise to a minimum and optimising cooling. The PAS range has a compact footprint so requiring less space on increasingly tight work sites, as well as making them easier to transport. Sykes Pumps – Rapid Response Unit When it was added to its hire „ eet less than 12 months ago, Sykes Pumps' Rapid Response unit was billed as representing a new concept in emergency pumping, due to its ability to cut reaction times. The product's lightweight frame was designed to facilitate legal towing by vans and other medium sized vehicles, thus enabling quicker reaction times in instances where urgent intervention is critical. Speci• cally manufactured with contractors, local authori- ties and utility companies in mind, the pump can be housed in customer depots or yards and be on the road within seconds. Although small and compact, the Rapid Response o‡ ers performance that can cope with the demands of pumping up to 130,000 litres per hour of operation. Like all pumps in the Sykes range, the Rapid Response is compliant with all industry legislation whilst negating the need for designated delivery drivers, tachographs and additional manpower. The unit can be attached, delivered and commissioned by a single operative – simplifying the process between transportation and installation. The latest launch reveals how Sykes Pumps continues to innovate and satisfy the ever-widening demands of its customers. Grundfos iSolutions portfolio As more companies embrace Industry 4.0 to increase productivity and reduce costs, Grundfos has launched a range of new intelligent products under its iSolutions portfolio.œ These products include the new Grundfos SMART Digital XL DDA and DDE dosing pumps, which enable accurate chemical dosage across numerous production processes including drinking water, wastewater treatment, and industrial processing. The intelligent monitoring and adjustment features ensure the safe and economical operation of increasingly complex dosing appliances, preventing leakages and improving cost e— ciency. The accurate performance of the two new pump models means customers can reduce chemical consumption by 5 to 19 per cent compared to mechanical dosing pumps, while consistently reaching processing targets. The pumps extend the performance of the acclaimed Grundfos SMART Digital range, opening up new application possibilities within industry, water utility, agricul- ture, and more.œ This is in addition to the launch of the Multi-Pump Cascade Function, which enables the control of up to four parallel-coupled pumps without the need for external control- lers, allowing for smarter pumping across the board. 18 WWT PUMP SUPPLEMENT DECEMBER 2017
