The results are in and, from a record number of entries, the very best have now been selected for recognition at the Utility Week Awards 2017. Receiving the entries for the Utility Week Awards is always the highlight of our year. The incredible achievements of the industry make for spectacular reading, and the judges' decisions are always nail-bitingly hard. This year, in recognition of the ever-growing number of entries and the incredible hard work that goes into them, we have introduced a new, two-stage judging process, with some of the biggest, most respected names in the sector as lead judges. We have also promised to share feedback from the judges in a bespoke benchmarking report for each shortlisted entrant. We are often asked what sets the winners apart, and how others can learn from their success. To answer these important questions, we will send Utility Week journalists to visit each of the winners over the next 12 months, and understand what they did diff erently and why it worked. Detailed case studies will be made available to all our readers, together with tips for next year's entries. In the meantime, it's all to play for, with the winners set to be revealed at the glittering awards ceremony – the industry's Christmas party, on 11 December at Park Lane's Grosvenor House. It's sure to be a night to remember. Ellen Bennett Editor , Utility Week sponsored by Congratulations to our award fi nalists
