Parsons Peebles HV/ MV motors Parsons Peebles has a new range of medium and high voltage standard motors, extending their current portfolio of engineered and drop-in replacement solutions. The PPD series is an IC411 motor which is a self-ventilating, enclosed machine with external fi ns and an external sha mount- ed fan; the PPT Series is an IC611 motor which is also an enclosed machine and has a built on heat exchanger and sha mounted fans; the PPC Series, an ICO1 motor, is a self-ventilating machine that is integral fan cooled by a sha mounted fan. The device is suitable for applications such as blowers, axial, radial and centrifugal pumps, stirrers and mixers. How it works: The so starter supports direct motor connection in wye or delta confi gurations, as well as allowing switching, meaning the three motor phases can be wired directly to the SSW900. As a result, the so starter only has to provide 58% of the rated motor current, allowing a smaller device to be used for the same power level. What's so good about it: Johannes Schwenger of WEG: "The SSW900 series expands our portfolio in an area which was previously not a focus of our activities in Europe. The new SSW900 devices are easy to use, and the integrated PLC allows the output torque to be adapted to the load and the start-up current to be kept as low as possible." Featuring a pat- ented interface and modular product architecture, it con- sists of an angle seat valve body, a piston or diaphragm actuator and a visual posi- tion indicator. The robust, fl ow-optimised valve body is made of easy-to-clean stainless steel and available in nominal sizes DN15 to DN65; its wide variety of valve bodies and actuators can be freely combined for maximum confi guration fl exibility, controlling fl ows quickly and reliably. Actuated Solutions HQ006 actuator Actuated Solutions has received ATEX approval for its HQ006 electric quarter turn actuator. Compris- ing high quality electrical components and alloy gearing, the compact yet powerful HQ006 boasts more consistent and reliable operations and an extended life span. Especially designed for quarter turn applications, such as small ball, butterfl y, plug valves and dampers, the HQ006 is relatively small yet provides high output torques of up to 60Nm, and a revers- ible motor with low current consumption.
