Severn Trent's 160-tonne tunnel-
boring machine – nicknamed the
"Siege Breaker" – is in action beneath
the streets of Newark, where it is play-
ing a critical part in the construction
of the town's new waste and water
system.
Over 24 kilometres of new and
improved water and waste pipes will
protect more than 400 homes and
businesses from sewer flooding. The
Siege Breaker will be boring a tunnel
across the town that's nearly three
kilometres long.
