Water. desalination + reuse June 2017 Tech Quarterly 21 T Q : P U M P S Fluid Equipment Development Company APPLICATIONS The MSD multi-stage, high pressure centrifu- gal pump series is the latest design in FEDCO pumps that cover fl ows and pressures found in brackish and seawater reverse osmosis (RO) applications. Constructed of duplex stainless steel (SS) this series can be used in virtually every RO application including container and portable systems, hotel and resorts, industrial, municipal, marine and off shore, mining, and power plant use. FEATURES AND BENEFITS FEDCO's MSD multi-stage, duplex centrifugal pump series provides a new level of reliability and effi ciency in RO pumps. This pump handles feed fl ows from 20 to 560 m3/h (88 to 2,465 gpm). You have no need for several pumps in parallel with the MSD lines wide range of capacity and with a rated pressure up to 83 bar (1200 psi). With effi ciencies up to 84%, this robust pump is engineered to deliver the BEP for the duty to obtain low life-cycle costs. The MSD model pump is loaded with unique features for reliable operation. The patented Water Bearing™ product lubricated bearing technology is featured in all FEDCO pumps. The lower capacity models are a multi-stage horizontal Duplex SS shell design and the higher capacity models are a multi-stage Duplex SS bolted stage design (shown in picture). This pump comes standard for horizontal installation, but can also be installed vertically. The feed inlet can be rotated 90° to easily fi t into any RO skid design. The optional baseplate features precision leveling feet for easy alignment. All MSD pumps can be equipped with a high inlet pressure capability with standard mechanical seals. Duplex stainless steel construction of the MSD pump make this corrosion-resistant design ideal for seawater applications. Precision investment cast stages are standard in Duplex Alloy 2205, but also available in Super Duplex Alloy 2507 for the most challenging applications. Easy operation and a maintenance-free design ensure years of trouble-free operation. If you need fast delivery, most MSD models have a lead time of 6-8 weeks. The new standard in seawater RO packages is the MSD multi-stage duplex pump with the FEDCO model HPB™ energy recovery turbocharger. The HPB™ can be mounted on an optional extended pump baseplate or located anywhere in the RO system to minimize piping.
