The Lewabrane
®
product line includes
elements for all the main reverse osmosis
applications, including desalinating
seawater, brackish water, and low-salinity
water. Leading fields of application include

Lewabrane
®
-brand membrane
elements are manufactured at a high-
tech, fully automated production plant
in Bitterfeld, Germany. The membrane
chemistry depends on a strongly cross-
linked polyamide layer that displays high
resistance to chemical cleansers, higher
rejection of complex salt mixtures, and
a low surface charge, which reduces the
tendency towards fouling. Since their
market introduction in 2012, tens of
thousands of Lewabrane
®
membrane
elements have been installed in more than
70 countries.
The product portfolio also includes
ASD models that contain a new type of
feed spacer. This ensures optimized flow
in the element and thus lower energy
consumption. The Lewabrane
®
product line
is compliant with NSF/ANSI Standard 61,
which is a recognized standard for devices,
components, and materials that come into
contact with drinking water.
The comprehensive design so ware,
LewaPlus
®
, can calculate Lewabrane
®
RO and Lewatit
®
ion exchange arrays
within the same so ware platform. It
allows the designer to simultaneously
optimize both the RO and IX configuration,
