Severn Trent Water has broken ground
on its largest project to date – the
£300 million Birmingham Resilience
Project – that will supply the UK's
second city with water whenever the
Elan Valley aquaduct, which has sup-
plied Birmingham for over a century,
is undergoing regular maintenance.
Part of the project is a new water
intake and pumping station near Lick-
hill, and a 25km pipeline to take water
from the River Severn at Lickhill,
