STORY BY NUMBERS Three Sixty MD quits after four months Seven days... T hree Sixty managing director Robert Marrill has resigned just four months aer the company launched. Three Sixty was spun out of Yorkshire Water to address the retail water market for businesses. Marrill is being succeeded by Nick Topham, former pro- gramme director for East Riding and Hull at Yorkshire Water. Marrill said his departure was "a personal decision" pertaining to travel issues. Topham has more than a decade of experience in senior roles at parent company Kelda Group. His focus will be on ensuring Three Sixty is ready for water market opening in April 2017 and driving it to become "a leading water retailer". Commenting on his appoint- ment, Topham said: "Like my predecessor, I'm focused on put- ting our customers at the heart of what we do and ensuring we make water work for them. We look forward to seeing how the market develops following deregulation." Kelda launched Three Sixty in September last year. Marrill, formerly a director at Kelda's non-regulated busi- ness Kelda Water Services, was appointed managing director having successfully developed the brand and proposition prior to launch. In October, Yorkshire Water formally confirmed that it would transfer all of its non- household retail customers to Three Sixty. LV "People are rightly furious it appears lessons are not being learnt" London Mayor Sadiq Khan has criticised Thames Water for a series of service failures in London over the Christmas period (see news, p27). In case you missed it Centrica stems customer losses Centrica now expects to exceed its 2016 financial targets aer stemming the customer losses it experienced in the first six months of last year. The British Gas owner said account numbers for its UK Home business had stayed "broadly flat" since it announced losses of 400,000 in its half-year results in July last year. 15 December 2016 EDF cuts prices now but variable electricity will soar in March EDF has cut the price of its variable and prepayment tariffs but in March customers will see electri- city prices rise by 8.4 per cent. Variable gas prices will be cut by 5.2 per cent from January 2017 and prepayment meter customers will see a 12.9 per cent cut in gas prices. Variable electricity prices will be frozen until March 2017. 16 December 2016 Drax gets state aid approval for third unit Drax has received state aid approval from the European Com- mission for the third unit at the plant to receive subsidies to run entirely on biomass. 19 December 2016 Energy efficiency review calls for new framework An independent review into energy efficiency and home renewable energy measures has called for greater consumer protection through a new framework and quality mark. The review sets out 27 recom- mendations to tackle consumer confidence in the energy efficiency marketplace, increase uptake and improve standards of installations. 19 December 2016
