18 WET NEWS JANUARY 2017 Shining a UV light on pipe lining WHAT'S NEW HERE WHERE TO USE IT LET'S TALK SPECS HOW DO THEY RUN? • UKDN Waterflow has boosted its ultra-violet lining capability to meet growing demand for the rehabilitation of large diameter pipes, sewers and culverts • UKDN's lining division has invested in a new highly-sustainable dual-core curing system designed specifically for lining pipes. • UKDN Waterflow is using the system to rehabilitate large diameter culverts for Network Rail • It will also come into its own in other sectors including construction, water utilities, energy generation, highway maintenance and manufacturing. • The system is designed specifically for lining pipes with a diameter of between 600mm and 1,200mm • The ProKASRO dual-core UV light system has four lamps on each core • A safety system will prevent the arms over-elevating past the diameter chosen. • "With this system, cameras can now be fitted at the front, middle and back of the dual-core, so the operator can monitor the curing process.
