Products Oxford Flow IP Series PRV ● Innovative balanced sensing piston eliminates need for diaphragm ● Minimum pressure head loss of 0.2 bar g ● Can operate at pressures of 100 bar ● One moving part ● Manufactured from water approved polymer Focus on…Valves What it is: The IP Series pressure reducing valve (PRV) produced by Oxofrd University spin-out Oxford Flow, uses an innovative balanced sensing piston that eliminates a weak link in conventional PRV design – the diaphragm. What's new: The IP Series is manufactured from a portable water approved polymer, which means that the unit is considerably lighter and smaller than the equipment it replaces, around 4 kg for a DN100 valve versus >40 kg for a traditional valve. Just one tenth of the materials used to make similar devices is required, meaning a much reduced carbon footprint. What are the benefits: With only one moving part, the unit is very lightly loaded during operation and its maintenance schedule can be measured in decades not months, decreasing the cost of ownership. Testing by UK water companies has shown it can achieve a minimum pressure head loss of just 0.2 bar g compared with 0.5 bar g for its main competition. Who is using it: Interest from the water industry has been intense and Oxford Flow is currently working with companies such as Anglian Water, Veolia and Morrison US. Find out more at: www.oxford-flow.com Rotork RI Wireless A new solution for wireless valve monitoring and diagnostics, Rotork RI Wireless transmits real- time position indication to the control room and enables predictive maintenance for actuated valves. The system comprises of a small, battery powered Valve Monitoring Device (VMD) that is installed on existing or new valve actuators using a NAMUR interface, or on manual valves with an ISO 5211 interface. The VMD collects dynamics- of-state data from the actuator or valve and transmits it as a 64-point packet. Durapipe Bluetooth Actuator Durapipe UK has launched an innovative Bluetooth powered valve actuator, allowing users to operate actuated valves remotely using any compatible Bluetooth device. The device is ideal for operating valves located in confined spaces, or at height, without personnel needing to be positioned in a control room and eliminating the need for cabling. It can be operated within a 10m range, even when the actuator is not visible, and allows multiple actuators to be controlled by a single device. Bürkert Diaphragm Valves Bürkert has expanded its product family of electromotive process valves to include diaphragm valves. The Type 3323 shut-off valve and the Type 3363 control valve are two new additions to Bürkert's line of electromotive valves, which – especially for applications without a compressed air supply – set new standards with respect to performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The valves feature high control accuracy and highly dynamic control, which allows them to reach the set point exactly and instantaneously with dynamic performance of 4 mm/s.
