People & Opinion Utility Week community UTILITY WEEK | 14TH - 20TH OCTOBER 2016 | 7 What's the most important lesson/ idea people should take away from your presentation? I would like the audience to appreci- ate the value of collaboration and what can be achieved when a whole industry decides to work together, irrespective of differing interests and commercial outlooks. What has been you most successful or challenging experience in your career and what did you learn from it? Too many to mention, but in general what I've learnt is to embrace the chal- lenges positively and get on with them. no point hesitating or putting things off – just do it. Identify five people you would invite to your dream dinner party and why? 1. Rick Stein to cook the main course. 2. Mary Berry for the puddings. 3. Peter Kay for the entertainment. 4. Paul Theakston for the drinks – Black Sheep. 5. My wife because if I didn't I'd be in trouble. I'd do the washing up. Name four items you keep on your desk/with you at work that reveal something about your interests/per- sonality. 1. I don't have much at all on my desk - I'm a tidy person. 2. Exception being a photograph of my grandsons. 3. I keep my PPE close by me because I'm a hands-on person who likes to spend time with our employees in the field understanding their challenges and what I can do to help them. 4. I have photos of my motorcycles on my PC screensaver to remind me to ride them.
