Garnett Wharfe, a housing develop-
ment in Otley, West Yorkshire, occu-
pies a site that was once a paper mill.
A twin Archimedean screw turbine
has been installed on the River Wharfe
to generate electricity for the homes.
The project is being managed by
Eric Wright Civil Engineering and
Lowwood Products for David Wilson
Homes. There are two 3.7m-diameter
turbines and a turbine house that will
house electromechanical equipment.
