UTILITY WEEK | 22ND - 28TH JULY 2016 | 5 National Grid is analysing the results of surveys that will give geologists and historians an insight into the history of Morecambe Bay dating back millions of years. So far, the results have revealed the conditions that make the bay hospitable to wildlife, showing how habitats renew to allow small crustaceans to survive. The surveys have also unearthed strata from different eras – ranging from the last ice age to as far back as 300 million years ago. Some of the samples have been sent for microscopic analysis and carbon dating. The by-product, consisting of sugar, fat and protein, which is le behind aer produc- tion line cleansing, will be transformed into biomethane and used by National Grid. Veolia found that chocolate ice cream provides 10 per cent more energy than vanilla, and 20 per cent more than strawberry. Chair for Eon boss Eon chief executive Tony Cocker has been confirmed as the new chair of the Energy and Efficiency Industrial Partnership. Cocker said he was "proud to stand here as chair for the next phase of this partnership" as he spoke at an apprentice graduation ceremony at the House of Commons this month. Mongoose finance chief Community energy company Mon- goose Energy has appointed Garry Peagam as its chief finance officer. He succeeds David Bunker.
